Nina Acosta, billing support

Pronouns: She/her

Nina Acosta

I was drawn to the clinic because of what I perceived as an open, welcoming environment. Each day I get to be part of a team, helping people feel better! I think I’ve been trying to find this type of work for a long time, and it feels so good to be able to be of service to the clinic community in this way.

Evolving self-care

It’s been interesting to hear self-care recommendations from the practitioners here. I personally get a lot from meditation and yoga. I’ve particularly gotten into Yin yoga (I practice at Be Here Now Yoga on Capitol Hill). The acupuncturists here have introduced me to Chinese herbal medicine, and Andrei has introduced to me Qigong – I’m having lots of fun learning the moves with that practice. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it.

When I’m not at the clinic…

I enjoy cooking and baking (I’ve been known to bring the fruits of my labor to the staff!). I love to read – short stories are a favorite. I have two children and enjoy learning from them and passing along to them any tidbits of holistic information that I learn at the clinic.

It’s a pleasure to work at a place where I feel supported, appreciated and cared for. I have had many support staff positions over the duration of my career and I’ve never found a place as comfortable to work as Transformational Acupuncture. Also, no other job offers naps at lunchtime! THAT is a huge bonus!
