Morning Sitting Meditation and Morning Tea Meditation at the Clinic!

morning meditation in washington dc at Transformational Acupuncture
Jeremy here! I’m starting a wonderful new series at Transformational Acupuncture that I’ve wanted to do for ages – weekday morning meditations.

Peace Inside for Peace Outside

My goal is to give people a chance to enter into sacred, peaceful space before their workday. When you do this for yourself, it’s a form of activism that contributes to bettering the world. Your most peaceful version of yourself creates a huge impact, larger than you might imagine. Meditation helps you achieve that. And of course, it’s awesome for your own physical and emotional/mental health and personal evolution.

Sitting Meditation from 8am – 8:30am

The goal here is to spend this time dropping into a peaceful zone before you start your workday. Meditating with others can provide an enhanced effect. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what a difference 20 min can make!
You can do whatever style of meditation you’d like, as long as it’s silent. All levels are welcome. The meditation will be totally silent – there won’t be any guided meditation instructions.
Feel free to leave after the sitting meditation, or join us for the tea meditation too, which takes place from 8:30-9 am weekday mornings.

Tea Meditation from 8:30am – 9am

Tea Meditation is an aspect of Cha Dao (the Way of Tea) in the Daoist tradition in China. Basically, this is a very simple tea ceremony where you drink the tea in silence. In this context, the tea serves as a gateway to deeper meditative states.
In fact, I like to call it “Tea-gong.” This is a play on words with Qigong (pronounced Chee-gong), which is a meditative art form similar to Tai Chi, with slow movements and breathing which open up the energy flow in all of the body’s meridians. I find that tea meditation can do the same thing.
Come try! A great way to start the work day – you’ll leave feeling more relaxed, but also more alert.
On any given day, we may be drinking puerh, black tea, oolong, or green tea.

Days, Times and Signing Up for Meditation in Washington DC

Starting April 2, 2018, I’m going to be offering Sitting Meditation from 8-8:30 am, and Tea Meditation from 8:30-9 am. These sessions will be held Monday thru Friday. Sign up here on our online scheduling page. The cost is $5 for the Sitting Meditation and also $5 for the Tea Meditation.
The Sitting Meditation will be 20 min of silent sitting, and the Tea Meditation is part of Cha Dao (The Way of Tea), which is the art of creating internal Qi flow and calming the mind through meditative tea drinking.
BTW, if enough people are interested in the Tea Meditation, but need it to end at 8:45 am in order to get to work, let me know (by sending us a quick message via our contact form) and I may shift the times accordingly.
