My goal is to meet people where they are at and support them in their journey towards wellness and ease.

—  Pronouns: He/him  —

I am a queer, trans/nonbinary, Filipinx transplant originally from the West Coast. After years of practicing in Seattle, I relocated to Washington, DC. I am particularly passionate about combining my social justice values with healing on an individual and community level. Bringing creativity to medicine and meeting people where they are at is one of my favorite aspects of this work.

Acupuncture Has Profoundly Impacted My Life

I first came to this medicine as a patient at a community acupuncture clinic. I was a student at the time with no health insurance and it was the only form of care that I could access on a regular basis. At first I was skeptical of sitting in a room with a bunch of strangers and getting poked in my hands and feet. I had no idea it would have such a profound impact on my life. Not only did my symptoms improve, but I became fascinated and infatuated with this medicine.

The Art & Science of Chinese Medicine

My favorite thing about Chinese medicine is its continuous relevance. It is thousands of years old because of its adaptability and comprehensiveness. When I’m treating someone, I take into account the different aspects of their life. Then together we can create a treatment plan that works for them. Too busy to come in for appointments twice a week? Let’s do herbs and have you come in every other week. Do you have back pain and a fear of needles? We can do bodywork. Chinese medicine is an art as much as a science and working creatively with my patients is one of the joys of this job.

Patient-centered and Trauma-informed Care

I treat a variety of conditions ranging from pain, digestive, psycho emotional, sports injuries, etc. I have a special affinity for working with patients from communities of color and/or LGBTQIA communities. This includes mitigating the side effects of hormone therapy, pre- and post-surgery support, managing anxiety and depression, and providing trauma-informed care. It is important to me to create safer healing spaces for folks surviving the effects of structural oppression in its many forms.

Education & Training

My treatment style is informed as much by my formal education as my experiences as a queer and trans person of color. When I think of holistic medicine, I include the context of a person’s social, professional, physical, and spiritual experiences. I believe treatments are a joint endeavor between a patient and a practitioner. My goal is to meet people where they are at and support them in their journey towards wellness and ease.
