— Pronouns: She/her/hers —
I come to Transformational Acupuncture from the other side of Dupont Circle, where I most recently spent five years as a Senior Search Coordinator for the executive search firm Isaacson, Miller. Over my tenure, I managed the logistics for more than 50 searches and provided the highest-quality customer service to clients, candidates, and colleagues.
I have also served as communications manager for the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA); Communications and Research Associate for a political spending transparency campaign; and a communications and research associate for progressive political campaigns and causes.
Although this is my first time working in a clinic setting, I’m not new to the world of health, healing, and caring practitioners. My mother was an OBGYN who graduated from medical school in the early ’70s, as one of the few women in her class. She was passionate about reproductive health access and providing the best quality care for her patients. She was also a student of yoga, meditation, and other Eastern healing practices that helped her through decades of chronic pain and cancer-related ailments.
On the other side of my family, my dad’s father was a family doctor, working many years in the Bronx in NYC at a time when medicine was personal and patients—rather than payments—were the focus. I look forward to continuing their legacies of maintaining a clinic space and administrative process of ease, kindness, and compassion for our patients, to ensure quality care is always first.
For more than 13 years, I have served mission-driven organizations and firms as a communicator, writer, project manager, and customer service representative. I love collaborating with others to help improve lives. As a Lymphoma survivor, I am well aware of how trying the path to health and healing can be.
It is my honor to step into this role at Transformational Acupuncture to make the patient experience peaceful, restorative, and affirming from scheduling an appointment to checkout. The clinic space brings me peace and tranquility as I type emails—I can only imagine how it feels for our patients.
Outside of the clinic, I’m a freelance writer and communications consultant living in the District with my cat, the one and only, Mr. Louis. I enjoy outdoor activities, virtual workouts, hanging out with friends (outside, 6 feet apart!), and Zooming with my closest family and friends. When I’m not living in a pandemic, I enjoy playing kickball and singing karaoke in locales around the DC area.
