A Short Introduction
I found acupuncture as a patient in 2016. I grew up in a family of doctors that was well-rooted in Western medicine. The physician who referred me to acupuncture reasoned with me to keep an open mind for a few visits. After my first visit, I never looked back.
Acupuncture not only provided me relief where I had not been able to find it, but allowed me to find a greater appreciation for and understanding of my body and my overall health. As someone who has always been drawn towards helping others, acupuncture has also provided me with a very special avenue to do so.
With a background in psychology and athletic coaching, I find a special joy in introducing new patients to acupuncture and the ways it can serve them.
My Education in Acupuncture
I completed my Masters of Science in Acupuncture at Virginia University of Integrative Medicine and am currently working to complete my Doctorate of Acupuncture. I am certified through the NCBAHM, formerly known as the NCCAOM. I am licensed in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
While completing my masters, I had the honor of being an intern at Bread for the City where I was able to offer community acupuncture to DC residents.
My Patients
I strive to allow my patients to lead their healing journey. As a practitioner, I see and hear my patients where they are and work together to find the plan and care that will work for them. I believe that each individual is unique in their experiences and needs. Understanding this is paramount to prioritizing their health and to being a complimentary addition to their healthcare team.
The opportunity to help and benefit patients is such an incredible honor that I am grateful for. It is a badge that I do not take lightly and will always aim to offer each patient the utmost respect, my complete attention, and a safe space.
