Balance Your Nervous System, Heal Your Body
Through acupuncture’s actions on the nervous system, acupuncture can help you heal both mental and physical health issues. Because there are not many healthcare treatments currently available that directly affect the nervous system, acupuncture will oftentimes help when other treatments have not.
Acupuncture can be extremely helpful for a range of health conditions. Many of our Washington DC acupuncture clients suffer from a common set of issues that can be divided into two areas:

Physical
Chinese medicine offers a truly holistic approach to healing physical health issues. Learn more how we can help you with a wide variety of physical health conditions.

How Does Acupuncture Work?
People who receive acupuncture will often notice a transformation—either of their mind and emotions, their body, their lifestyle behaviors, their concentration, focus and productivity at work, and their relationships with friends and loved ones. Or all of the above.
How is it possible for one treatment modality to deliver such a wide range of results? To learn more about how acupuncture works, see our articles about:

Your First Acupuncture Session
Your first session will consist of a health history consultation, as well as an acupuncture treatment. After we’ve learned more about your condition, we’ll outline an initial plan for your acupuncture treatment.
The total time of the first appointment is usually an hour, but allow for 1 hour and 30 minutes in your schedule. Because acupuncture is often very relaxing, we recommend that you leave yourself a few minutes after your appointment to enjoy the relaxation of the acupuncture session before heading to your next appointment.
Your Acupuncture Treatment Plan
Most often, we suggest that you start with acupuncture, 2 times per week for 2 weeks. These 4 sessions will be a good gauge of how you respond to acupuncture. At your 5th session, we’ll evaluate your progress, and suggest your next stage of treatment.
Verify Your Insurance Benefits
We accept insurance from Blue Cross / Carefirst, Aetna, and United. To find out if your plan includes in-network coverage for acupuncture, please fill out our short form to verify your benefits with us. You can also call us with your information at (202) 297-7404. Our staff will usually have your coverage information within 2 business days.
Acupuncture Delivers Peace to Body & Mind
If you haven’t yet experienced acupuncture, it’s definitely worth a try to see how your body, emotions and mind respond. For some people, it literally is a deep experience of peace—both in the body, which relieves pain and restores energy and normal function—and also in the mind and emotions, which brings more even moods, resilience and faster processing of trauma and emotional pain. Let us know if you have any questions about your particular situation!
