My goal is to support my patient’s sense of well-being and overall balance through the journey of life.

A Short Introduction
My path into integrative wellness began when, as a Western-trained physician teaching biomedicine to future acupuncturists, I experienced acupuncture for the first time. That moment opened the door to a deeper journey of reconnecting with my own health and self-awareness.
As I continued studying medical qigong and East Asian medicine, I came to appreciate the powerful connection between the mind and body in healing, which ultimately inspired me to become an acupuncturist and create an integrative practice rooted in the belief that wellness is a collaborative, holistic journey toward balance and sustainable well-being.
My Education in Acupuncture
I earned my medical degree from Yonsei University College of Medicine and am a licensed physician (MD) in Seoul, Korea, where I built a strong foundation in Western medicine and clinical care. I later completed a Master of Science in Acupuncture at Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, deepening my training in East Asian and integrative medicine.
My clinical work includes Traditional Chinese, Electro-, Scalp, Trigger Point, and Master Tung acupuncture, as well as cupping therapy, with certification in Battlefield Acupuncture.
My Patients
I center my care around truly listening and working together, recognizing that each person’s experience and needs are unique. Treatments are thoughtfully tailored to address not only symptoms, but also the root causes of imbalance. My goal is to help patients with current concerns while supporting lasting wellness and a better quality of life over time.
I Would Like to Specialize In…
I may care for a wide range of conditions beyond relieving symptoms, including pain management, musculoskeletal concerns, arthritis, sports injuries, migraines, stroke rehabilitation, neurologic conditions such as Bell’s palsy and neuropathy, gastrointestinal issues such as indigestion and acid reflux, women’s health concerns such as PMS, irregular menstruation, and menopausal symptoms, as well as mental well-being concerns including anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I also support patients with conditions such as sinus congestion and tinnitus.
With a deep understanding of the underlying causes of illness, I take an integrative approach to caring for complex medical conditions. My goal is to support each patient on a meaningful path toward lasting health, vitality, and improved quality of life.
My Passion and Training in Chinese Herbal Medicine
My passion for Acupuncture, with big letter “A”, and East Asian medicine comes from its comprehensive approach to healing, rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine that have been clinically developed and refined over thousands of years.
Increasingly supported by modern evidence-based research, Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy that takes a holistic approach — recognizing the deep connection between the body and mind while supporting the body’s natural ability to heal. It also encourages patients to develop greater self-awareness and attunement to their own health.
Through this collaborative process, healing becomes both clinically effective and empowering, helping each individual move toward balance, resilience, and lasting well-being.
My Favorite Herb Is…
Balloon flower root (Platycodon grandiflorus), known as Jie Geng in Chinese and Doraji in Korean, is a widely used herbal medicine traditionally valued for supporting respiratory health.
It is commonly used to help relieve cough, reduce phlegm, and soothe sore throats by promoting the proper flow of lung energy.
As a food-grade herb, it can be safely incorporated into both dietary and therapeutic use. Mature roots, particularly those aged over many years, are rich in saponins, which are believed to support immune function and have played a role in my own recovery from long-standing chronic sinus concerns.
